ATLANTA – After scoring a career-high in points in three-straight games and leading the Panthers to victories in each, Georgia State men's basketball sophomore Jalen Thomas was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday.
The three-straight wins moved the Panthers into second place in the Sun Belt Conference East Division standings heading into this week's crucial series with first place South Alabama on Friday and Saturday.
Thomas averaged 17.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 68.8 percent (22-of-32) from the floor.
Thomas opened the week scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while pulling down four rebounds in 30 minutes of action in an 80-66 win over Troy.
