NEW ORLEANS -- Jaeda Hunt is this week’s Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week as the freshman set a new school record in the long jump over the weekend.
Hunt set a new Georgia State record in the long jump with a leap of 6.34m (20’ 9.75”) Friday at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial in Athens, Ga.
Hunt’s jump exceeded the previous mark of 6.07m set in 2007 by Alexandra Roze’fort.
Hunt’s performance on Friday is tied for the 10th best long jump in the NCAA East Region this season and is tops in the Sun Belt Conference by 0.
