TAMPA, Fla. - Georgia State wrapped up the USF-Rawlings Classic on Sunday with a 5-1 defeat to Virginia Tech.
The Hokies opened the scoring with two runs on two hits in the bottom of the second.
Georgia State cut the VT lead in half in the top of the third after Skylar Mosel grounded out to third base with the bases loaded, scoring Baylee Sexton.
That would be it for the Panthers, however, as the Hokies would score runs in the fourth and fifth innings to win 5-1.
The Panthers return home to host the I-75 Challenge next weekend beginning with a doubleheader Friday against Western Carolina.
