ATLANTA - After leading the softball team to a sweep of Chattanooga on Saturday, Daisy Hess has been named the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Hess went 5-for-11 (.455) with two home runs, a double and seven RBI as Georgia State swept Chattanooga in a doubleheader Saturday after falling at No. 18 Georgia on Wednesday.
Hess hit a three-run homer in both of GSU's wins over the Mocs as the Panthers won 6-2 in Game 1 and 8-2 in Game 2. The sophomore shortstop was perfect in the field with a team-high nine assists and slugged 1.
