ATLANTA--Georgia State freshman designated hitter Ryan Glass was named National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball newspaper after hitting three home runs and a walk-off single to lead the Panthers to three victories in four games last week.
Glass is Georgia State's second National Player of the Week selection this season, following Nick Gatewood on April 9, and the seventh since 2013. The Mableton, Ga., native is the first Panther freshman to earn a National Player of the Week award.
For the week, Glass was 5-for-15 with three homers and five RBI.
But his biggest hit of the week was a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Panthers to a 3-2 victory over Appalachian State on Senior Day.
