CONWAY, S.C. – Georgia State women’s soccer fell to Coastal Carolina 2-0 Friday night at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
The loss snapped GSU’s two-match win streak over the Chanticleers and dropped the Panthers to 4-7-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. Coastal Carolina improved to 5-6-2 on the year and 3-2-1 in the Sun Belt.
Coastal Carolina controlled possession for the majority of the first half on Friday, out-shooting the Panthers 8-3. Neither side was able to create any threatening scoring chances, as both teams headed to the break without a shot on goal.
Georgia State responded with a strong opening to the second half, getting good looks from Brooke Shank and Jimena Cabrero, but neither were able to find the back of the net.
