The Georgia State women’s tennis team participated in the ITA Regional Championship in Tallahassee this weekend. This tournament marked the last of three fall tournaments for the Panthers this season.
Eva Chivu impressed by advancing to the round of 16 in the singles main draw, outlasting FIU’s Mariana Alcaide 6-2, 6-7(3), 6-1 in the round of 32.
“Eva has the ability to compete with and beat players at the highest level. She proved that this weekend,” said head coach Alex Leatu.
Damira Muminoviu0107 also had a noteworthy outing, making it to the round of 32 before falling to UGA’s Lea Ma.
