ATLANTA-- The Georgia State Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 6-1 win against the Colgate Raiders on Saturday.
Senior Emily Hodnett (2-3) got the win for Georgia State (7-16). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up one run on two hits, allowing three walks and striking out seven.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Georgia State scored twice, with one run coming across on senior McKenzie Walker's single.
