SAN MARCOS, Texas - Georgia State lost 5-0 in the first of three games at Texas State in San Marcos Friday evening.
Emily Soles threw 5.1 strong innings, holding Texas State to three earned on five hits.
The Bobcats scored their five runs on seven hits while Texas State starting pitcher Meagan King held GSU scoreless on one hit.
GSU's lone base knock came from senior co-captain Remington Hasty in the second inning.
The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and would post two more runs in the third and their fifth run in sixth.
