ATLANTA -- Georgia State Friday starter Hunter Gaddis is the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Baseball Player of the Week after tossing a complete-game, 3-hit shutout with a career-high 10 strikekouts in a 2-0 victory at Samford.
The sophomore right-hander retired the first 14 batters, five of them on strikeouts, before Samford managed its first baserunner on an error with two outs in the fifth. After five no-hit innings, Gaddis allowed his first hit to lead off the sixth on a single up the middle by Mason Williamson. After another strikeout, Gaddis allowed his second single, and then with two outs, he plunked Anthony Mulrine to load the bases.
