LAFAYETTE, LA. -- Hunter Gaddis turned in another tremendous start, but Georgia State fell 2-0 at Louisiana in Friday's series opener at Russo Park.
Gaddis, the junior right-hander, pitched a complete game and allowed two runs but only one earned on five hits while striking out 11.
His 11 strikeouts raise his season to total to 102. He is the just the third Panther pitcher ever to strike out 100 in a season and the first since 1996, when David Giancarlo set the school record with 115 and Rodney Dickinson added 105 punchouts.
Over his last two starts, Gaddis (1-7) has allowed only three earned runs to Louisiana and Texas State while striking out 20, but the Panthers (14-36, 5-20 Sun Belt)
scored one run in the two contests.
