ATLANTA -- Freshman Hunter Gaddis led Georgia State baseball with a no-hitter into the eighth inning in Saturday's 2-1 win over UT Arlington to earn Georgia State's Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines on Monday.
The 6-5 right-hander was nearly perfect for the first seven innings, allowing just one walk, which was erased by a double play, and one hit batter while striking out five. That gave the rookie from Sequoyah High School in Canton 18 straight scoreless innings since moving into the starting rotation two weeks ago.
The first hit that Gaddis allowed was a solo home run to lead off the eighth inning.
