ATLANTA -- Savannah Freeman led Georgia State to a 1-0 win over Iowa State Sunday with a complete-game shutout at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.
Freeman held the Cyclones scoreless while sprinkling in six hits on seven innings and striking out three on the way to her first win of the young season.
The Panthers had Freeman's back on defense with freshman shortstop Daisy Hess and center fielder Skylar Mosel making several highlight plays throughout the contest.
In the top of the second with an Iowa State runner on third, Hess snagged a hard grounder and made a perfect throw home to catch the runner in a pickle trying to score.
