ATLANTA -- Georgia State hit four home runs, including Michael Maginnis' go-ahead, three-run blast in the sixth inning, and GSU pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts in the Panthers' 12-2 Opening Day victory over Cincinnati Friday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
Luke Boynton, Max Ryerson and JoJo Jackson also homered as the Panthers exploded for 11 runs in the seventh and eighth innings to win on Opening Day for the ninth time in the last 11 years
Georgia State trailed 2-1 in the seventh inning when Matt Ruiz doubled to right center to score Boynton with the tying run.
