ATLANTA -- Georgia State softball standout Ivie Drake was named a first-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, becoming the Panthers' first ever first-team selection.
The senior catcher from Carlton, Ga., earns All-America honors for the second time in her career after making the NFCA second team as a freshman.
The honor is the latest in a long line of accolades and records for Drake, who goes down as one of Georgia State's most decorated student-athletes in any sport. She is GSU's eighth first-team All-America across all sports and one of just three Panthers all-time, along with golfer Joel Sjoholm (2007 and 2008) and tennis player Abigail Tere-Apisah (2012 and 2014), to earn first, second or third-team All-America status more than once.
