CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina scored a late goal and held on to snap Georgia State's five-match winning streak with a 1-0 win at the CCU Soccer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After both teams were held scoreless for the first 80 minutes, Coastal Carolina (1-0, 1-0 Sun Belt) got on the board with a goal by Marcello Jones in the 81st minute.
Georgia State (5-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) saw its winning streak snapped which had matched the best start to a season in program history.
The Chanticleers outshot the Panthers 9-4, with junior Matt Fearnley recording three of the Panthers four shots.
