ATLANTA -- Earning its sixth bowl berth in the last nine years, Georgia State will face Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 23 in Boise, Idaho.
The 27th Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Albertsons Stadium and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
Georgia State enters the postseason with a record of 6-6 overall, 3-5 in the Sun Belt Conference, while Utah State finished 6-6 overall, 4-4 in the Mountain West Conference. The two schools are meeting for the first time.
"This is an opportunity for our football team to finish this season the right way," said head coach Shawn Elliott, who is taking his team to a bowl game for the fifth time in his seven seasons.
