BRADENTON, Fla. - Junior Gabby Benson is playing softball this summer in the Florida Gulf Coast League, a five-week collegiate summer league in Bradenton, Fla.
"I was contacted by an old friend in the softball world about this league that was happening," Benson said. "The executive director of the league, Ryan Moore, asked if I wanted to play for his RiverMocs team. After our GSU season was cancelled, I had to put softball on hold for longer than I ever have in my life. When I got that text that I could pick up a softball earlier than expected, I was all for it.
