STATESBORO, Ga. – With a pair of goals by freshman Andrew Bennett, Georgia State earned a season sweep of rival Georgia Southern with a 3-0 win over the Eagles on Friday night at Eagle Field.
Georgia State (7-1, 2-1 Sun Belt) won for the second-straight time and will remain in a tie for first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings reaching the midpoint of league play. Georgia Southern (1-5, 0-3 Sun Belt) lost for the third-straight time being outscored by the Panthers 5-0 in two matches this season.
Bennett got the Panthers on the board in the 33rd minute with his first career goal courtesy of assists from Ross Finnie and Jack Hilton-Jones.
