KENNESAW, GA. -- In a game that featured 28 hits and 22 runs, Georgia State fell 12-10 at Kennesaw State Monday at Stillwell Stadium as the teams split their annual home-and-home series.
Brandon Bell drove in four runs for the Panthers (12-29), while Griffin Cheney reached base six straight times, including three hits, two RBI and three runs scored. Georgia State outhit the Owls (19-23) 15-13.
After the Panthers tied the game with two runs in the third inning on an RBI-triple by Dalton Davies and a sacrifice fly by Bell, Kennesaw State took the lead for good with a run in the bottom half and then broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning to take a 9-2 lead.
