ATLANTA – The Georgia State beach volleyball team headlined the list of recipients for the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 school year, the association announced Monday. GSU is one of just six schools in the nation to win the award, on a list that includes Stanford and South Carolina.
Under head coach Beth Van Fleet’s leadership on and off the sand, the Panthers have won the AVCA Team Academic Award for three consecutive years. Van Fleet spoke very highly of her players and their work ethic when asked about the award.
“One of the highest honors is receiving recognition for diligence and dedication in the classroom,” Van Fleet said.
