ATLANTA- Beach volleyball junior Bailey Hatchett was named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar by the magazine Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
Inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr.'s commitment to education and his love for the game of tennis, the award honors minority student-athletes who standout in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. To be eligible, student-athletes must possess a 3.20 minimum GPA, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and an active member in the university.
As Georgia State's first student-athlete Presidential Scholar, Hatchett has excelled in the classroom.
