STATESBORO, Ga.- On Friday, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Southern Miss, with No.1 Giulia Riepe picking up the lone point for the Eagles at home.
The Blue and White, now with a 7-4 record, were blanked by the Golden Eagles (9-2) at the time the match was clinched at 4-0. Southern Miss came out strong and snagged the doubles point with wins at lines one and two to leave the No. 2 match unfinished.
In singles, Southern Miss won all but one of the first sets. Lindsay Truscott tallied a 6-1 first-set score; however, her opponent slipped away in the last two 6-0, 6-3.
