WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Ansley Bowman rolled in three birdies on the back nine and shot a 75 to lead the Georgia Southern women's golf team into third after the first day of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic Thursday at Waikoloa Beach Kings' Course.
The Eagles are three strokes behind Arkansas State in second and 10 behind Oklahoma State, which is leading the tournament. Bowman is tied for sixth with Sara Camarena of Oklahoma State, three shots back of the leader, Kaylee Shimizu of Utah Valley.
Natalie Petersen shot 1-under on the front nine with a birdie on the 5th on her way to a 76, and the sophomore is tied for eighth.
