SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Iben Hvass shot a 75, Lauren Coe recorded a 76 and the Georgia Southern women's golf team placed fourth at the Terrier Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Hvass finished the 36-hole tournament with a 147 (+3) to place second in the individual standings, a stroke behind medalist Natalia Villavicencio (+2) of Western Carolina. It's the best individual finish in the two-year history of the GS program.
Winthrop (+33) shot 300 as a team, the lowest round of the day, to move up the leaderboard and win the tournament by a stroke over Western Carolina (+34).
