SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Mason Williams birdied three of his final five holes to shoot a 71 and tie for 20th at the NCAA Championships Monday at Grayhawk Golf Club.
Williams began his day on the back 9 and was 3-over with five holes to go. He hit his tee shot to within two feet on the par-3 5th and made birdie. The senior followed that by chipping in from 10 feet off the green on the par-4 sixth.
After finding the greenside bunker on 7 and posting bogey there, he hit his tee shot on the par-3 8th left of the hole and made the downhill 12-footer to move to 1-over on the day.
