STATESBORO - Shai Werts ran for nearly 100 yards and a score as the Georgia Southern football squad held its annual Blue-White Spring Game Saturday at Paulson Stadium. Under cloudless skies and 75-degree weather, the Eagles went through a 100-play scrimmage to highlight a day of activities at the Erk Russell Athletic Park.
With the offense running in the blue and defense in white, the two sides went toe to toe for almost two hours. Quarterback LaBaron Anthony opened the scoring with a 27-yard touchdown run on the second drive of the day before running back Wesley Fields punched it in from 4 yards outs.
