JONESBORO, Ark. – tallied a match-high 19 kills to go along with 14 digs, and Georgia Southern scored three straight points in the fifth set to hang on for a 3-2 (25-19, 25-17, 15-25, 21-25, 15-12) volleyball win over Arkansas State in its Sun Belt Conference opener Friday night in First National Bank Arena.
The Red Wolves (5-8, 0-1) battled back from a 2-0 deficit and led 11-10 in the fifth set after a solo block by Kassidy Reeves. The Eagles (9-4, 1-0) called timeout, and and notched consecutive kills to give Georgia Southern a 12-11 lead.
