NEW ORLEANS– Georgia Southern volleyball was picked to place fourth in the East Division in the Sun Belt preseason coaches poll, the league announced on Tuesday.
The team earned 55 vote points, placing behind James Madison (94, 13), Appalachian State (70, 1) and Coastal Carolina (69) while narrowly edging out Old Dominion (54).
The Eagles did not earn any preseason awards. Stacked against the rest of the Sun Belt, the team placed seventh out of 17 teams.
Last season, the Eagles went 16-12 under Chad Willis, making it to the second round of the Sun Belt Tournament.
