After a kill by trimmed UTA's lead to 8-7 in the fifth set, the Mavericks (10-7, 4-3) scored the next five points, with two kills by Jedlicka, to open an insurmountable 13-7 advantage.
The Mavs trailed 2-1 in the match and 21-20 in the fourth set, but Brooke Townsend's two kills helped UTA cap the frame with a 5-1 run and force a fifth set.
