TROY - Troy claimed the final game of this weekend's Sun Belt softball series against visiting Georgia Southern with an 8-0 win in six innings on Sunday in Troy.
The Trojans improve to 33-15-1 overall and 14-6-1 in the Sun Belt with the victory. Georgia Southern falls to 17-31 overall and 6-15 in the league with the loss. The Eagles return home to Statesboro and will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against Marshall, beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Leanna Johnson (24-6) hurled a one-hit shutout, walking two and striking out five to earn the win for the Trojans.
