NEW ORLEANS – Tookie Brown has been named Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
The senior earns the honor for the third time in his career and first time this season.
Brown tallied 22 points, six rebounds and four assists in the championship game of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. He led Georgia Southern to an 80-77 win over Montana and was named the tournament MVP.
Brown averaged 20 points, 4.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and a steal a game while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the free-throw line in four games last week.
