STATESBORO – Georgia Southern men's golf will be well represented at the 119th playing of the U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst in August.
Sophomores Ben Carr and Colin Bowles advanced to the prestigious tournament through qualifying while Steven Fisk earned an exemption because of his top-10 world amateur ranking (currently eighth).
Bowles made birdie on the first playoff hole at Jennings Mills July 23 to punch his ticket after shooting 68-71 (-5). Carr shot 67-64 (-9) to win medalist honors at the Crabapple Course in Atlanta July 18.
"To qualify for the most prestigious amateur event in the United States alongside two of my teammates is pretty special," said Bowles.
