STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team won 6-1 over the UAB Blazers on Sunday in Birmingham, AL. The Eagles snapped a three-match losing streak against the Blazers with the win.
The afternoon began with the doubles matches, where Pol del Castillo and Laurent Julia Calac fell 6-3 at the No. 3 position to open the afternoon. However, Tao Castillo and Alex Suk fought in their match and won 7-5 in a close match at the No. 2 position. At the No. 1 position, Alexandros Roumpis and Valentin Dun needed a tie breaker for their match, but they clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-4) win, giving Georgia Southern a 1-0 lead on the afternoon.
