MOBILE - South Alabama softball took game one of a three-game Sun Belt Conference series from visiting Georgia Southern by am 8-1 score on Friday evening in Mobile.
The Jaguars move to 21-17 overall and 13-4 in the Sun Belt with the win, while the Eagles fall to 11-30 overall and 4-15 in the league with the loss. The two teams will continue their series on Saturday with a 4 p.m. ET first pitch.
Georgia Southern got on the board first as Janai Conklin launched a two-out solo home run in the top of the first, her sixth home run of the season and the third straight game in which she has gone deep.
