BOONE, N.C. – The Georgia Southern softball team (19-12, 3-1 SBC) opened its three-game series against App State with a 5-3 victory on Friday afternoon at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.
Down one run heading into the fifth inning, the Eagles evened the score before scoring a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh inning to secure the victory.
App State (9-19, 0-4 SBC) struck first on an RBI double to take an early lead but the Eagles responded in the fifth to even things, 1-1. Gracie Bellard led off the inning with her fourth double of the season recording the Eagles first hit of the contest before then scoring on an RBI single off the bat of Emma Davis.
