STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern offense exploded scoring in five straight innings to roll past Coastal Carolina, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at Beautiful Eagle Field.
Georgia Southern (25-14, 9-2 SBC) continued its best start in Sun Belt conference play moving to 9-2 and secured its fourth straight series victory. The series marks the first time since X that the Eagles have taken the series over the Chanticleers.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as Kayla Christensen led off the bottom of the first with a walk and Emma Davis reached on an errant sacrifice bunt to put runners on the corners before Valerie Combs doubled to score the pair of runners.
