STATESBORO - Georgia Southern softball has been picked to tie for 11th in a preseason poll of Sun Belt Conference coaches, released today by league officials.
The Eagles received 27 points in the preseason poll, tied with Georgia State for 11th out of the new 12-team Sun Belt. The league lost one team from last season (UT Arlington) but added three new softball members in James Madison, Southern Miss and Marshall.
Defending league champion Louisiana is the unanimous pick to repeat as the top team in the Sun Belt, securing 144 points and all 12 first-place votes.
