STATESBORO – Georgia Southern softball (27-17) fell to Mercer (23-22), 4-2, on Tuesday night at Beautiful Eagle Field.
Mercer jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. After a pair of singles, an RBI groundout to first base plated the lone run. Three innings later, Delanie Thames evened the score in the fourth inning launching her seventh home run of the season.
The Bears would retake the lead in the fifth inning scoring three runs on three hits The Eagles would cut into the deficit in the bottom half of the frame to make it, 4-2.
