ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia Southern softball (14-11) dropped a hard fought battle, 1-0, to 13th-ranked Georgia on Wednesday night at Jack Turner Stadium.
Georgia's Esther White recorded the lone hit for Georgia in the sixth, a solo homer to center field to lift the Bulldogs over the Eagles, 1-0.
Maddie Johnson (8-4) threw a gem in the circle tossing six innings while allowing just one run on one hit and tallied seven strikeouts. Johnson held the Bulldogs hitless through 5.2 innings before giving up the home run and did not allow a runner on base.
