STATESBORO– Track & field sophomore Shatalya Dorsett spent Easter weekend representing the Bahamas in the 2025 Carifta Games in Trinidad and Tobago, competing in sprints and relays for her country.
Dorsett kicked off her weekend performance by advancing to the U20 100m dash finals after finishing with the second-fastest time, clocking an 11.50. Not to be outdone, she earned a bronze medal in the finals later that night with a time of 11.45.
In the 200m, Dorsett ran a 23.31 mark to advance to the finals again, finishing just behind Georgia athlete and Trinidad & Tobago olympian Sole Frederick.
