Several Tennis Players Honored with ITA Academic Awards

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its 2016 Academic Awards, recognizing more than 4,200 scholar-athletes across all divisions, along with over 700 all-academic teams. The Georgia Southern men's team, coached by Sander Koning, and the Georgia Southern women's team, coached by Michele Stanford, were both honored as an All-Academic Team for their work in the classroom.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2015 and spring 2016).
