STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's soccer wrapped up one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2022, highlighted by capturing the school's first regular season conference title in winning the Sun Belt Conference crown and earning a top seed in the postseason tournament.
Not bad for a squad that was picked to finish fourth in the Sun Belt East Division standings and seventh overall in a preseason poll of the league's coaches. The achievements of the Eagles did not go unrecognized as Head Coach Chris Adams was named the Sun Belt's Coach of the Year while three Eagles - junior defender Sade Heinrichs, redshirt sophomore forward Elis Nemtsov and freshman goalkeeper Katie Oakley - earned All-Conference honors.
