SAVANNAH, Ga. - The second-seeded Georgia Southern men's soccer squad advanced to the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Tournament Finals with a 3-0 semifinal win over third-seeded Appalachian State on Friday evening at the Floyd E. Morris Field in Savannah, Ga.
The Eagles (7-6-3) advance to face top-seed Georgia State (10-6-2) - 2-1 winners over fourth-seed Coastal Carolina - in the 2018 Sun Belt Tournament final at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Eagle Field. The two teams met during the regular season in Statesboro, playing to a 1-1 draw back on October 20th.
Georgia Southern and Appalachian State were meeting for the fourth time in the last two seasons - and the previous three meetings were tight defensive affairs, resulting in only two total goals between the teams.
