MOBILE, Ala. – The 25th-ranked Georgia Southern baseball team swept a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against South Alabama by taking the final game, 7-2, on Sunday afternoon at Eddie Stanky Field.
Georgia Southern (27-12, 14-4 SBC) found itself behind after two innings, when South Alabama (22-16, 9-9 SBC) scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning. In the top of the fourth inning, the Eagles would get on the board when Jarrett Brown plated Noah Ledford with an RBI-single.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Eagles would take the lead and never surrender it, starting when JP Tighe belted a two-run homer to left center field in his first game back from injury, giving the Eagles a 3-2 lead.
