ATHENS - The No. 12-ranked Georgia softball team used a pair of big innings to pick up a 9-0 non-conference win over visiting Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening at the Jack Turner Softball Stadium in Athens.
The Bulldogs improved to 32-8 on the season with the win, while Georgia Southern saw its three-game win streak come to a close, falling to 14-21. The Eagles return to Sun Belt Conference play on Friday, beginning a three-game series at Georgia State with a 1 p.m. contest in Atlanta.
The Bulldogs plated five runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-0 lead.
