STATESBORO - Jesse Sherrill took the first pitch he saw off his right shoulder with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to plate the winning run for Georgia Southern Sunday as the Eagles completed a three-game sweep over Arkansas State with a 7-6 win at J.I. Clements Stadium.
Trailing 6-5 going to the final inning, the Eagles loaded the bases with two outs before Parker Biederer drew a walk to tie it up and then Sherrill was plunked for the 10th time this season to plate Jarrett Jenkins and send the dugout streaming onto the field in jubilation.
