NEW ORLEANS - Nine Georgia Southern football players have been voted to the Preseason All-Sun Belt squad, as released Monday afternoon by the conference. The team was voted on by coaches and selected media who cover the league.
The Eagles placed five players on the first team: fifth-year running back Jalen White, senior receiver Derwin Burgess Jr., fifth-year defensive lineman Justin Rhodes, junior defensive lineman Isaac Walker and redshirt senior linebacker Marques Watson-Trent. A pair of offensive linemen in redshirt sophomore Chandler Strong and junior Pichon Wimbley, along with redshirt-senior defensive back TJ Smith and sophomore return specialist DeAndre Buchannon were all named to the second team.
