BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State softball collected a 7-1 Sun Belt victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Saturday, earning the series win over the Eagles.
The Mountaineers moved to 19-13 overall and 7-4 in the league with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 8-20 overall and 3-8 in the league. The series concludes on Sunday with game three at 1 p.m.
App State pushed across an unearned run in the fourth inning to take a one-run lead, then used a three-run home run from Kayt Houston in a four-run fifth inning to build a 4-0 advantage.
