Monarchs Surge Past Eagles in Thursday Night Action

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion jumped out to a 20-0 lead and never looked back in downing the Georgia Southern football squad, 47-19, in Thursday night Sun Belt action at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

After the two teams traded punts to start the game, the Monarchs got on the board with an 8-yard touchdown pass and then scored on the next drive to take a 13-0 lead with Elhadj Fall blocking the PAT. In the second quarter, the Monarchs scored quickly after an Eagle fumble to increase the lead to 20. The GS defense got its legs under it and forced a three-and-out and then JC French hit Josh Dallas on a 59-yard touchdown pass to get the Eagles on the board.
